EcoNotes: Tech Will Make the Future Better

Turbine-powered roadway lights concept
Wow! Turbine- wind power to light roadways and communities. We’ve been abuzz about this technological innovation, ever since spotting it at Engadget.com’s blog.

Ingenious, eco-friendly concepts are all around us, there’s no denying that. This one caught our eye because it’s pretty innovative, seemingly well thought out, and good looking to boot. The Turbine Light concept (which is going to be a part of the upcoming Greener Gadgets conference in New York City at the end of this month) harnesses the power of the wind from cars rushing past to light up the ever-darkening roadways. The turbines use the wind collected to generate energy for the lighting.”

The United States could really lead the global marketplace in utilizing innovation, technology and ecologically-focus to develop new products- that are good for the Earth, and good for our economy.

Smartphone synergy already changing landscape

January 26 2010 by WebMistress in Industry Insights

We remember being questioned about our focus on Apple devices, especially in the “early” days (the iPhone first generation device was released June 2007, just shy of a mere three years ago). With the introduction of the 3G, the device no longer had any barriers or limitations, especially related to enterprise integration. For Mac OS users, this was not surprising, having successfully navigated the waters of running Windows software on Mac hard drives years prior.

Still, many IT departments, and organizations with a mix of assets using several platforms (RIM/Blackberry, Microsoft OS-enabled devices), hadn’t gotten around to configuring servers to accommodate all devices. With fully-supported Microsoft Exchange server capability, the iPhone 3Gs is ready to synch flawlessly, and further enable team members.

Hence, our interest in sharing this article, A New Era for Corporate Culture: iPhone Use Doubles in the Enterprise.

More than 70% of Fortune 100 companies are now testing the iPhone as their smartphone of choice.

Removing barriers to productivity is always a benefit. We’re not OS-centric either- we fully support the larger idea of connectivity across the enterprise, and the mobile revolution led by smartphone use.
