The newest division of Yapzilla premiers with the news of approval from Apple for the sale of a new iPhone& iPod Touch mobile application for young children- the My First Shapes™ App.

My First Shapes™ App is specifically designed for young children (1- to 3-years old), to stimulate left and right brain and implement early learning, including audial, visual and associative neural development.

Designed with the consultation of an early childhood learning specialist, My First Shapes was developed to assist toddlers and young kids in the following ways:

  • Develops early memory skills, and positively reinforces learning.
  • Teaches basic words, colors and shape recognition.
  • Stimulates left/right brain development.
  • Correct balance of simplified learning and not overwhelming to young learners.
  • The My First Shapes App is not too visually intensive or over-stimulating- design is balanced with rate of early childhood learning.

“We are very proud to launch a new division dedicated to Education, and using technology to expand educational opportunities,” said Antonio Alfonso, Resources Director of Yapzilla. “We are especially excited to develop new educational products focused on early childhood learning and supporting parents in teaching their children. iPhone OS 3.2 SDK for iPad is OUT

February 9 2010 by WebMistress in News

Apple has released the new OS 3.2 Software Developer’s Kit for the iPad. Now, developers like Yapzilla can “peek inside” the as yet not available for purchase iPad. The device’s larger screen, 9.7-inch (diagonal), 1024×768 pixels, enables developers to work with a larger area and all sorts of creative ways to display app components.
Apple iPad
Per AppleInsider.com:

The site also presents an iPad Programming Guide that “introduces new features available for iPad and how to implement those features in your applications,” as well as new iPad Human Interface Guidelines.

Apple says the new user interface guidelines outline “how to effectively use the new views and controls available to you to deliver unforgettable applications to your customers.”

The SDK also includes new example code projects that “provide an example of how to accomplish a task for a specific technology.”

Most exciting for us, is the news that the new SDK introduces new Universal Application binary format for iPhone OS apps. This means we can develop an app and have it display and function on both iPhones and the new iPad.

Have an idea for the next killer app? Wondering about how your firm or clients can best leverage this amazing platform and an ever-expanding mobile application and device marketplace? Contact us- we’re ready to partner with you and leap forward into the next leading edge of techonology.

A Playland for Apps in a Tablet World

Apple Announcement on Tablet this week!

January 24 2010 by WebMistress in News

Just a *few* more days! Geeks unite…and salivate over this blog post from Gizmodo.
Some highlights:

Some people want the Apple Tablet to run Mac OS X’s user interface. Others think its UI will be something exotic. Both camps are wrong: The iPhone started a UI revolution, and the tablet is just step two. Here’s why.

ooh, a discussion about end users and User Experience – what a concept!!! (Corporate America, please, oh please, take notes)

More speculation on how it looks! Ten inch screen, really?
Clicky!

Yummy, pancakes!

If Apple has interpreted its indisputable success as an indication about what consumers want for the next computing era, the new device will be more of the same, but better and more capable.

Maybe Apple ignored this experience, and they have created a magical, wondrous, an unproven, completely new interface that nobody can imagine now. You know, the one that will bring universal love, world peace and pancakes for everyone. I’m all for pancakes.

Yapzilla is busy gearing up for the release of this device and releasing new tablet-ready versions of our entertainment division’s iPhone and iPodTouch Apps.
